Dal tdaka Khichdi

Khichdi is tasty and healthy dish made of dal and rice with some spices and vegetables. It is protein packed, rich and flavorful comfort food that everybody love to have. It is easy, Instant recipe.

Step by step recipe:

  • Soak Rice and dal in water for 5-10 minutes.
  • Chop 1 onion, 1 tomato, 2-3 garlic cloves, 1 green chili and keep aside
  • Heat 1 spoon ghee in a pressure cooker, on Medium flame, add 1tsp cumin seeds, 2-3 chopped garlic, 2 dry red chilies, 1 chopped onion and sauté all together.
  • Drain of dal and rice water.
  • Put dal and rice to pressure cooker, mix and sauté.
  • Add ½ tsp turmeric powder, ½ tsp red chili powder, 1 chopped tomato, 1 tsp salt and mix.
  • Add 2.5 cups water, let it boil and then cover the pressure cooker s lid and wait for 2-3 whistles.
  • Serve hot with coriander garnish on the top.

Ingredients:

  • Rice 1 cup
  • Toor Dal1 cup
  • Red chili Powder 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder 1 tsp
  • Salt 1 tsp
  • Dry Red chili 2-3
  • Ghee 1 tbsp
  • Tomato 1
  • Onion 1
  • Garlic cloves 2-3
